Since the age of 17, when Bruce B. Johnson received salvation, he always had an attraction to both the  Word of God and its original languages.  This compelled him to seek God more as an instrument to be used by God.  He started attending Evangelical Fellowship Church under the tutelage of Bishop Fred Jerkins, where he learned Hebrew, Greek and a clearer understanding of scripture.  To this day, the drive in him has increased to know, not only more and more about God, but to learn more about God’s purpose for his life.

Years later, he was introduced to the ministry of Dr. Myles Munroe, where he learned even more about the Kingdom of God and God’s purpose for his life.  Over the years, Bruce has been blessed to teach bible studies, Sunday school and even hold revivals throughout the Tri-State area.  Sometime later, Bruce was ordained as Deacon while being blessed to sit under the ministry of Pastor Darryl Pratt of In His Image Ministries where he furthered his understanding of not just the Kingdom and his purpose, but gained a first time understanding of the Feast of the Lord; about the Finish Work of the Cross; and how serving God comes from works of the spirit and not from our human efforts.

In June 2018, Deacon Bruce and his wife, Stella started having a bible study cookout in their home in Absecon for those that found themselves struggling with their schedules to attend church.  One evening during the bible study cookout, it was prophesied that they would have their own church.  In November of 2018, a shift occurred and God called them from the church they were attending to start their own ministry.  In January of 2019, Pastor Bruce and Evangelist Stella were ordained.   In June of 2019, Word of God Ministry was birthed and they began service at another home they owned in Atlantic City.  Then God opened a door for them to rent a sanctuary for their ministry, which is now held at St. Andrew Church.  Today, Pastor Bruce B. Johnson Founder of Word of God Ministry stands with a settled mind to only proclaim the truth of what God really came to give us, which is not religion, but a Kingdom.
